Dermal Filler
Dermal filler is an injectable solution of hyaluronic acid, that fills the soft tissue under the skin. Dermal fillers are ideal for filling in under-eye hollows, adding volume to the lips and cheeks, straightening the nose and enhancing facial features.
-
What areas can be treated with dermal filler?Dermal filler is commonly used to enhance or restore volume, and create symmetry and facial balance to areas such as lips, cheeks, chin and jaw. It can be used to fill hollowing under the eyes, which can cause dark circles or a 'sunken' appearance. A very popular treatment at Adorn Aesthetics Hampshire, is nose reshaping (also known as "non-surgical rhinoplasty"). Please get in touch if you are unsure which area you would like treated, or book a free consultation via our booking page.
-
How quickly will I see results? Results can usually be seen immediately. However, you may experience some swelling or bruising for a couple of weeks after treatment. Final results will be seen once this subsides.
-
How long does it last? The longevity of dermal filler depends on many factors. This includes which area is being treated, the brand and type of filler being used, and individual metabolism and lifestyle. At Adorn Aesthetics Hampshire, we use Teosyal (by Teoxane), which contains high amounts of hyaluronic acid and is one of the longest lasting dermal fillers. It is a "high end" brand and widely used all over the world and is especially loved in the renowned clinics of Harley Street, London.
-
Does the treatment hurt? Some patients report mild discomfort when having dermal filler treatments, and some say it doesn't hurt at all. This will depend on the pain tolerance of each individual. At Adorn Aesthetics we apply numbing cream prior to treatment and provide stress balls for you to squeeze!
-
Are there any side effects? Most people find that the injections cause only mild local pain and tenderness. There may be swelling on or around the treated area, which can last up to 2 weeks. Occasionally swelling can last longer, depending on the area treated and how quickly the individuals body heals. Bruising is also possible. All other potential side effects or complications will be mentioned in your consent form, which you will receive prior to treatment, and these will also be discussed at your appointment.
-
Will my results look natural?Sarah at Adorn Aesthetics Hampshire specialises in providing natural and subtle facial enhancements. Each treatment is tailored to your individual goals and desired results, however we believe education is key and we will not carry out a treatment which we do not think will benefit you!
